The Independent, San
Francisco A beloved figure in the music of Brazil, singer/guitarist Rosa Passos makes her San Francisco debut. Celebrating the release of her new cd AMOROSA (Sony Classical) as a tribute to Joao Gilberto's Classic Album, Amoroso, Rosa herself created the arrangements, and included favorite Antonio Carlos Jobim songs and Brazilian standards. Her band features Rodrigo Ursáia/sax, Fábio Torres/piano, Paulo Paulelli/bass, and Celso de Almeida/drums. "Rosa Passos' sweet, warm, totally in-tune voice sounded a bit like the legendary Elis Regina but with the rhythmic articulation of Ella Fitzgerald." - Los Angeles Times, review of the Hollywood Bowl concert with cellist Yo-Yo Ma on the Obrigado Brazil tour
